Nathan Cheek is an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Maryland, where he directs CHIP lab. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University and studies biased beliefs that drive inequalities and how people make sense of their own and others' choices and experiences.

Ziqi Yao earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purdue University in 2023 and then became CHIP lab's first lab manager. She is from Shijiazhuang, China, and her research interests include gender inequality, mindsets, and conflict management. In her free time, she enjoys listening to Taylor Swift.
Sydney Ludwig is a current senior at Purdue University studying Health and Disease with a minor in Psychological Sciences. She has been in CHIP lab for 3 semesters and is interested in how social psychology topics relate to health and the current healthcare system. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and crocheting.
Sierra Norris graduated from Purdue University in 2024 with a major in Psychological Sciences and a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Sierra's research interests include lexical selection and relationship studies on the Asexuality Spectrum. Sierra is originally from South Bend, IN and enjoys reading and making chainmail jewelry.
Patrick Pannier is a junior at Purdue University, where he studies psychology, statistics, and naval science. His research interests include perception, reaction time, decision-making, and cognitive control. Patrick plans to attain a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology. In his free time, Patrick's primary hobbies are woodworking and cooking.
Michelle Zhao is a senior studying kinesiology and psychology at Purdue University. She plans to pursue physical therapy, specializing in neurological or orthopedic PT with stroke or TBI patients. Her research interests lie in judgment processes and social perception and stereotypes, as well as effects of physical activity for fibromyalgia or chronic pain. Michelle enjoys swimming, concerts, playing with her cat, and trying authentic Asian cuisines.
After graduating from Purdue, Jackson Murray joined Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab as a Design Strategist. He is passionate about researching users in complex systems, advocating for their needs, and leveraging emerging technology to solve problems, which has led to projects with JHU APL, NASA, CDC, Zebra Technologies, and more! In his free time, Jackson enjoys photography, strategy games, rock climbing, classical music, and staying healthy.
