The Choice, Inequality, and Policy (CHIP) lab studies how people make sense of their own and others' choices and experiences. We investigate biased beliefs that drive inequality, such as incorrect assumptions about poverty or misguided understandings of sexual harassment. We also explore the meaning people ascribe to decisions and how different construals of choices can affect decision goals, strategies, and outcomes.
